AZIT is a small gallery space created by emerging young artists in their twenties and thirties, located in the corner of Ikseon-dong, Seoul, within Gallery Space 35—a renovated traditional Korean house. Conceived as a contemporary “azit,” the space was designed as an open place where artists and visitors can casually gather, share stories, exchange thoughts, and freely reflect together. Seoul is often described as a city where the past and present coexist in complex layers. While these layers are frequently examined through historical and anthropological perspectives, such interpretations can feel distant or overly abstract to those who have not directly lived through those past experiences. For younger generations, these narratives often remain as fragmented knowledge or imagery rather than lived memory. AZIT responds to this gap by offering a space for reflection grounded in the present. Rather than searching for definitive answers, the exhibition invites visitors to consider how we—living in our twenties and thirties—navigate a city shaped by accumulated histories and shifting identities. In an age where information is easily accessed and quickly consumed, AZIT encourages visitors to slow down, share diverse viewpoints, and unfold their thoughts together within an intimate setting. Let’s open our thoughts together at AZIT.
