1/75/75/75

2023 · Performance · Seoul

1/75/75/75 is an immersive performance-installation by the collective DotDot, which has been exploring complex perceptions of space and time since 2022. The work translates the notion of 1/75 of a second—a quantified instant—into a layered spatial experience. Interpreting AC-CAVE as a living organism that connects different spatiotemporal realms, the project stages the overlap of three distinct spaces: the individual spatiotemporal realities of the two performers, and a third, non-human entity generated through their interaction. Within the AC-CAVE environment, three moments converge into one—the instant of a virtual space superimposed onto physical space, the instant of sound mapped onto that space, and the instant of movement produced by a third non-human presence shaped by both space and sound. Using three-sided projection mapping, virtual environments are layered onto the physical space and dynamically shift in response to the performers’ positions, while four-channel spatial audio further overlays an acoustic dimension. Through this interplay, the work invites audiences to sensorially experience space as a living ecosystem in which human, non-human, physical, and digital elements coexist in balance. Ultimately, the project envisions an expanded immersive environment where not only performers but also audiences actively contribute data and agency, allowing each participant to construct their own narrative within a shared spatiotemporal field.
